The sunshine brought bumper crowds flocking to the first day of Suffolk Show.

With around 84,000 people are expected over the two days, organisers were confident there would be no repeat of the traffic problems which blighted last year's show.

Executive director Chris Bushby said they had a system in place to deal with the crowds.

Around 500,000 has been spent on improvement and modifications by show organisers the Suffolk Agricultural Association.

Work on a nearby park and ride scheme at Martlesham has been put on hold just a day after it started to help minimise traffic problems.

This year's show promises a mixture of old favourites and new attractions for visitors.

The theme of the show, Growing for a Healthy Nation, focuses on the health benefits of fruit and vegetables.
