A foster care group has called for volunteers to provide homes for young offenders in West Sussex.
West Sussex Youth Offending Service provides temporary accommodation for young people who are awaiting trial, or granted early release from custody.
Carers should be available during the day and have experience of parenting or working with people aged 10 to 17.
Pat Arculus of West Sussex County Council said: "Being a foster carer can make a big difference to a young life."
He added: "Young people can gain greatly from a short period of focused support and living in a family within the community rather than being in custody."
