More than 200 new cases of swine flu have been diagnosed in the West Midlands, health officials say. The latest figures of 204 new cases, brings the total number of people infected in the region to 2,308. There are now 6,538 cases in the UK. A primary school in Stoke-on-Trent and a sport centre in Shropshire have been closed after cases were confirmed. NHS chiefs said more than 60 cases have been confirmed in Coventry as part of a "rapid increase" in the past few days.
