Soldiers from 4th Battalion The Rifles are returning to their Wiltshire camp after a six month deployment in Iraq.
The 500 troops began the tour at Basra Palace, training the Iraqi Palace Protection Force, patrolling Basra City and targeting key militia.
In August, they joined the remainder of the UK Forces, training, mentoring and monitoring the Iraqi Security Forces.
The MoD said their families would be welcoming them back to Bulford Barracks with roast chestnuts and mulled wine.
Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Sanders said: "My resounding personal memory of Basra Palace will be of the immense courage, fighting spirit and fortitude of our young men who have served there.
"They have made great sacrifices but have responded to it all with enormous strength and resilience, maintaining their sense of humour throughout the mission and displaying great strength and bravery when called upon.
