Charity cuts hospital waiting lists
Operating table
Hundreds of extra operations have taken place
Nearly 400 Lincolnshire people have been taken off NHS waiting lists after a charity was set up by a hospital sale.

The Bromhead Medical Charity was set up last year after the Bromhead Hospital in Lincoln was sold to private firm Nuffield hospitals.

Since then it has been buying treatment for patients on NHS waiting lists.

The charity says it has already spent about 300,000 on operations and has plans to spend much more in the next 10 years.

Patients have already been treated for hip and knee replacements, neurological conditions and cataract surgery.

Bromhead Medical is also committed to continue the service and will spend more than 2.5m to fast-track patients over the next decade.
