England have beaten Sri Lanka by 89 runs in the first one-day international to go 1-0 up in the three-match series - take a read of Matthew Henry's report to see how the game played out.

England captain Harry Brook: "It wasn't the easiest of surfaces. I said the other day we want to be a team who can adapt to conditions as much as possible.
"I thought we did that very well today. After about 20 overs, we said 280 was a decent score, and we managed to scrap away to get 260."
On Will Jacks: "Outstanding player and he has been for many years now. He has been a constant performer in franchise cricket. He has been an awesome player to have in the side."
On Jamie Overton: "He has been another one, outstanding in T20s and one-dayers. The clarity we had going out on the field was very good. We just knew we had to keep the stumps in play as much as possible."
On Rehan Ahmed: "He did everything we asked him to do. He gave the ball a bit of a turn and a bit of a rag."

"We have to do better in second innings. We have to score the runs a little more in boundaries. Unfortunately we couldn't chase 260."
On debutant Sachindu Colombage: "He controlled the whole game today. When he came to batting he did really well, I'm really happy."

"Happy how we ushered the innings there. We were trying to do things in the right way and trying to get a good score. I think what we have been doing well recently is communicating what the pitch is like.
"Joe [Root] and Harry [Brook] were saying 275 and 280 was a good score. When I got out there, I found it a bit tricky.
"We all know in 50-over cricket you have got more time than you think, and we managed to catch up at the end. I go into each game with an open mind, which is quite refreshing and it keeps me relaxed.
"I like to say so, but I think we were more worried about batting for 50-overs as we lost a few wickets, but it worked in my favour.
"I think obviously we batted on it and, knowing what it was like, I knew I was going to play a decent role.
"The time you bowl doesn't bother me now. Harry likes to be as flexible as possible and we are doing good things."

Sri Lanka have a lot of experience in their team. Whether they have experienced different conditions and are able to win outside of Sri Lanka is the struggle for them.
WIll Jacks averaged 4.3° of turn today, by far the most for any of the four spinners on display today (the other three averaged 2.8°). It's also the most amount of turn Jacks has found in a home ODI in his career.
