Henman's year got off to a stuttering start at the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Having progressed through to the third round, the British number one suffered a five-set loss to Argentinian Guillermo Canas.

Speaking at the news conference afterwards, Henman described his defeat as "a bitter pill to swallow".
