Allan Bickerstaff has moved up to become senior coach at Rhyl following the departure of manager John Hulse.
The Lilywhites have decided against appointing a direct replacement for Hulse, believing that Bickerstaff and assistant Gary Powell can do the job.
Ex-Rhyl player Bickerstaff is currently completing his Pro Licence coaching course and will take over his duties at Belle Vue with immediate effect.
"We're delighted to have Allan," said Rhyl managing director Dave Milner.
Bickerstaff led the Lilywhites to a 1-0 win over fellow Intertoto Cup qualifiers Lisburn Distillery in Belfast at the weekend.
