Arsenal recorded victories over AS Roma and Panathinaikos in a triangular tournament in Austria on Thursday.

A Sylvain Wiltord header saw the English double winners beat Greek side Panathinaikos in the first of the 45-minute matches.

The Gunners secured the Maurice Lacroix trophy with a 2-1 defeat of Italian side Roma, who had also beaten Panathinaikos.

Thierry Henry put the North London side in front before Gabriel Batistuta equalised for the Italians.

French 18-year-old Jeremie Aliadiere sealed victory for Arsene Wenger's side, who gave a debut to Gilberto Silva.

Arsenal's match against Rapid Vienna in Eisenstadt was abandoned last week after Rapid fans fired rockets onto the field and pelted police with bottles and seats.

They then pulled out of their friendly match against TSV Hartberg following the crowd violence.
