Flooding is expected from 2 hours either side of high tide on Friday morning Areas particularly at risk include exposed coastal areas at Hallsands, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton, Blackpool Sands, Teignmouth Promenade and Dawlish. The high tide at Teignmouth on Friday is at 03:55 GMT, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 2.11mAOD, which is 0.75 metres above tide table level. Strong force 7 north easterly winds and offshore wave heights of over 2.5m are forecast over the high tide. Coastal conditions should ease for Friday evening's high tide. Rising river levels overnight may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from the early hours of Friday 23 October . Locations most affected will be Alverthorpe Beck, Balne Beck, Ings Beck and Oakenshaw Beck in Wakefield, low lying land and roads near rivers. Rain associated with Storm Austen overnight will see river levels rise from the early hours of Friday, peaking between 6:00AM and midday. Friday will be largely dry with levels falling through the day. Further rain is forecast on Saturday afternoon which may see levels rise again. We are closely monitoring the situation .
