Anne McCover, 49, a BT operator from Uddingston, said she preferred listening to music in her car rather than at home.

"It's nice to sing along when you are driving," she said.

"Sometimes I forget to take the car radio with me and it can feel quite quiet and peaceful but I wouldn't want to go all day without music."
