Vicky Glass was last seen in a Middlesbrough pub in September 2000.

The 21-year-old's mutilated body was found two months later on moorland in North Yorkshire.

She is one of three prostitutes to go missing from the Middlesbrough area in two years.

The detective who is leading what is now one of the biggest murder hunts ever undertaken by Cleveland Police, returned to the place Ms Glass was last seen to make his personal appeal.

Detective Superintendent Brian Dunn said he wanted people to end the long-standing "wall of silence" surrounding Ms Glass's disappearance.

Ms Glass turned to prostitution to feed her heroin addiction.

She was last seen in the Shipmate pub in Middlesbrough town centre on 24 September 2000. Her remains were found on the North Yorkshire Moors.

A large reward was offered and officers have taken 700 statements, carried out more than 3,400 separate inquiries and examined more than 5,000 documents.

Attention focused on lorry drivers who were known to be among Vicky's clients, but detectives have been met with a wall of silence.

Prostitute Rachel Wilson, 19, went missing from Middlesbrough in May and has not been seen since.

Donna Keogh, 17, also disappeared from the same area of Middlesbrough town centre.
