Staff on basic pay will receive a rise

Workers and managers at a Devon shipyard have reached agreement in a dispute over pay, bringing a series of one-day strikes to an end.
Babcock Marine, which owns Appledore Shipyard in north Devon, has agreed to a 12% rise over two years for staff on basic pay.
It follows four recent one-day strikes at the yard.
The GMB and Unite unions claimed workers at Appledore were paid less than those at Babcock's other yards.
Babcock had warned that workers risked losing a vital contract to build the hulls for two new aircraft carriers if the strikes continued.
