The first show at a Lancashire theatre for nearly 30 years has been cancelled after a licence mix up.
Morecambe's historic Victoria Pavilion, also known as the Winter Gardens, should have hosted its first performance since its closure in 1977.
But The Friends of the Morecombe Winter Gardens have been forced to cancel Friday's performance because they did not apply for a licence.
The Friends should have got a council entertainments licence 10 days ago.
The organisation bought the Grade II-listed building a few months ago after 20 years of fundraising.
American writer-director David Mahmet's play Oleanna was to have been performed at the theatre.
