Icy conditions are continuing to affect roads in South Yorkshire after overnight temperatures fell to -7C (19.4F) in some parts of the county. The A628 Woodhead Pass was shut but has reopened. The A629 at Wortley and A57 Snake Pass at Glossop remain closed. In Sheffield overnight temperatures fell to -4C (24.8F). Temperatures of -7C (19.4F) were recorded in Doncaster. About 70 schools and colleges were closed and police warned motorists to take extra care on the roads. Bin collections in Barnsley have been suspended because of poor weather conditions, the council said.
