The father of a British tourist who was murdered in Kenya is flying to Nairobi to discuss a new inquiry with police and government officials.
Julie Ward, 28, who lived near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, vanished while travelling in the Masai Mara game reserve in September 1988.
Her father John, a retired hotelier, said he would leave Britain on Sunday.
He hopes to meet the Kenyan Minister of Justice early next week to discuss the possibility of the case being reopened.
An inquest in Suffolk last year heard that local officials initially claimed Miss Ward had been attacked by wild animals after a post-mortem report - which suggested she had been murdered - was altered.
A British pathologist told the inquest tests clearly showed Miss Ward's body had been dismembered with a sharp instrument.
