Views sought on city centre plans
Sunderland
Among the questions is where a new bridge crossing should be
Interviewers are taking to the streets of Wearside to find out people's views on plans to breathe new life into a city centre.

People living in Pallion, Hendon and the East End of Sunderland are being asked about a range of issues.

They include their preferred type of development on the Vaux and The Grove sites and where a new bridge crossing over the Wear should be.

They will also be asked how more people can be attracted to the riverside.

Consultation process

Director of development and regeneration Phil Barrett said: "The aim is to give people the opportunity to say how they would like to see the city continue to develop.

"This is an integral part of the ongoing consultation process relating to the changes being made to the development plan for central Sunderland."

The interview teams were in the Ford and Pallion areas of the city on Friday and are due there again on Saturday.

Next week, they will be in the East End, Hendon, Southwick and Monkwearmouth areas.
