There are two primary purposes for floats.
They allow non-swimmers to remain buoyant, and can also be used as a training tool for more advanced swimmers.
Floats allow beginners to the swimming pool to become confident in the water before they try to swim strokes.
They can also be gripped in the hands or between the legs as part of training drills to build up muscles.
