Scotland will return six MEPs after the election on 4 June

Campaigning is getting underway in the contest for the six Scottish seats to be selected in the European election.
UK polling takes place on 4 June, before the results are declared the following Sunday.
The role of MEPs has expanded, with more clout in EU legislation and enhanced influence over the Commission.
The number of Scottish seats in the European parliament has been cut from seven to reflect the expanded membership of the European Union.
The Euro poll, together with local council elections in England the same day, will also offer pointers to party strength, especially with an eye to the next UK General Election.
Between 4 June and 7 June, 375million voters across 27 countries will have the chance to elect 736 members of the European Parliament.
Voters in Scotland will have to wait an extra day to get the full picture after the results are declared, as no votes in the Western Isles are counted on a Sunday.
