The Scottish Christian Party has been campaigning for votes ahead of the Euro elections, positioning itself as the alternative party of choice. The party said it believed in less crime, stopping abortion and ending what it described as the "politics of fear". Millions of voters across 27 countries will go to the polls to elect 736 MEPs between 4 June and 7 June. Scotland will return six MEPs, one less than in the last European Parliament. Although the Gospel is the guiding source of the Scottish Christian Party's manifesto, candidate Sheila McLaughlin said people did not have to be Christians to vote for them. "I believe we could give good opportunity as a Christian party," said Dr McLaughlin, adding: "People are fed up, they've tried all the rest. "We need to go - not back to the old days and back to hardships that we had - but back to a standard of values and living for our children."
