UKIP launched the poster campaign in Gordon Brown's constituency

The UK Independence Party has unveiled its poster campaign in Scotland for the European Elections.

The party has been pressing home its main message that Britain is better off out of Europe.

UKIP wants to see membership replaced with a free trade agreement and points to non-EU nations such as Switzerland and Norway as the future.

The party wants a vote on the European Constitution so UK citizens can decide on powers for the European Parliament.

Its lead Scottish candidate, Peter Adams, said UKIP was the only party flying the flag for independence from Brussels.

"We've got the common agriculture policy adding about £1,000 per year to a family budget on food, we've got the decimation of our fishing waters, we've got increasing regulation which are affecting every part of out industry - and it's stifling small business," he said.

Although UKIP wants complete withdrawal from Europe, the party supports maintaining a free trade agreement and much more strict immigration controls, such as those which exist in countries like Australia.
