The British National Party has been campaigning in Scotland ahead of the European elections, demanding the UK withdraws from the European Union. The party also wants to stop Turkey joining the EU and opposes further "mass migration promoted by the European Union". Millions of voters across 27 countries will go to the polls to elect 736 MEPs between 4 June and 7 June. Scotland will return six MEPs, one fewer than to the last parliament. BNP Euro candidate in Scotland, Charlie Baillie, said: "Most important to us is the threat we feel to our British culture and identity and, therefore, we'd oppose any further mass immigration, promoted by the European Union, which we feel is a threat to the British culture and identity." On its opposition to Turkey joining the EU, the party claimed expansion would bring "80 million low-wage Muslims into Christian democratic Europe".
