Call for disability legislation
Politicians have been urged to listen to the needs of people with mobility problems in Guernsey.

Pressure group Ramp said more attention should be focused on legislation to encourage shopkeepers to provide equal access to their premises.

Spokeswoman Jackie Tebbet said a law similar to the UK's Disability Discrimination Act should be introduced by the States.

The health and social services minister was unavailable for comment.

Ramp believes more should be done for people with restricted mobility, despite some limitations with some of the island's historic buildings.
