A proposed skateboard park for the People's Park in Jersey may have to be moved to a new location.
The States Planning Department has told the Channel Island Skateboarding Association an environmental impact assessment will need to be done.
A spokesman said the assessment would show if the facility was too noisy for the People's Park in St Helier.
The association said if it failed, it would consider putting the skateboard park in a warehouse on the North Quay.
The parish assembly wants to build the skate park in the south west corner of the park.
