The Liberal Democrats retained control of Oadby and Wigston Borough Council in Thursday's local elections.

The party gained four seats on the Leicestershire authority, bringing its total number of councillors up to 21.

The Conservative party lost four seats and now have a total of five councillors on the authority.

The turnout for the vote in the borough was 37.5%. Every one of the seats on the authority were contested in the vote on Thursday.
