Among their new councillors is a former National Front regional organiser, George Ashcroft.
The Tories also held Shrewsbury and Atcham, took overall control of Oswestry for the first time and gained overall control in South Shropshire.
Also for the first time, North Shropshire District Council is in the control of the Conservatives.
