Harrogate kept up their strong start to the National League season with a routine win at Scunthorpe.

Will McGowan fired Harrogate ahead with a stunning strike after 14 minutes, rifling a left-footed effort into the top corner from 25 yards.

Goalkeeper Rory Watson made strong saves from Alfie Beestin, Danny Whitehall and Patrick Jones to preserve Harrogate's lead at the break.

And the visitors were two up soon after the interval as Shawn McCoulsky rounded Watson and slotted home to seal the win which lifted Town up to second place.
