The total repair bill after the recent severe floods which hit Moray is approaching £2.5m, councillors are to be told. An estimated repair bill of about £900,000 for council houses was announced last week. Repairs to roads and paths have cost up to £400,000, and replacing bridges will be about £900,000, with staff and contractor costs about £150,000. The recent flooding was the third such incident to hit the area in 12 years. The flooding caused devastation and forced people from their homes at the start of September. Similar flooding problems happened in Elgin in 1997 and again in 2002.
