Is it true that in the 1970s Charlton were once credited with a goal when the ball actually went in through the side netting?
I'm not aware that there was ever such an incident at a Charlton match. But Chelsea were awarded a goal that was never scored at home to Ipswich (Division One) on September 26, 1970.
Alan Hudson's low shot hit the stanchion on the outside of the goal, and the ball rebounded onto the pitch. The referee gave the goal after consulting a linesman, and it stood, although TV pictures proved otherwise.
Leigh Green, England
What is the lowest number of points by a club relegated from the Premiership? As a Sunderland fan, I'm wondering if we are about to become that team.
The record Premiership 'low' is 24 points from 38 matches by Watford in season 1999-2000. Sunderland's form this season certainly makes them candidates to take over.
Steve, London
Is Wayne Rooney the first teenager with Everton to play for the full England side?
Everton's Tommy Lawton was 19 when he made his England debut against Scotland in 1939. His career was interrupted by the war, but he went on to win 23 caps.

He has also managed eight clubs: Burton Albion, Scarborough, Notts County, Huddersfield, Plymouth, Oldham, Bury and, since December 1999, Sheffield United.

That distinction went to Johan Cruyff. He won the award with Ajax Amsterdam in 1971 and with Barcelona in 1973 and 1974.
Matt Panton, Scunthorpe, England

Where are they now; Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa, who starred in Tottenham's FA Cup winning team in 1981?
They are back together. Ossie now manages Racing Club, in his native Argentina, and Ricky is his assistant. The Ardiles family home is still in England. Ossie managed Newcastle, WBA and Tottenham and says he would like to have another crack here.
Dave Lapworth, UK
At the end of the season, how many clubs from England will qualify for the 2003-04 Uefa Cup?
A fifth-place finish in the Premiership guarantees qualification for next season's Uefa Cup, and the other two places go to the FA Cup and Worthington Cup winners.
The FA Cup runners-up would qualify if the winners were in the Champions League, but the Worthington Cup runners-up wouldn't qualify... as if Manchester United would want to!
