Suzuki's Tom O'Kane: This is the clutch and engine cover. It's a dry multi-plate clutch - quite unlike a car's. Dry because it's not in oil. All MotoGP bikes have six gears, but on certain circuits you may only use five, either 1-5 or 2-6. Most clutches also have a slipper mechanism to prevent the rear wheel locking up.
