Upland pressures

Mossy saxifrage (Saxifraga hypnoides) is a perennial alpine herb forming mats of fine moss-like leaves, studded with large white flowers in summer.

It is found in upland areas of north and south Wales, the Peak District, the Lake District and is widespread in upland Scotland.

Overgrazing makes this a vulnerable plant.
