A 13-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a stabbing in a town centre.

Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to Riverside Walk, Rochdale, at 18:09 BST on Saturday.

Two teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article.

The force said the injured teenager was being treated in hospital and inquiries are continuing.
