Former prison officer guilty of indecent behaviour

Former prison officer Wayne Le Cocq denied seven charges he faced at the court

A former prison officer has been found guilty at Guernsey's Magistrate's Court of behaving in an indecent manner in a public place.

Wayne David Le Cocq, 64, of Collings Road, St Peter Port, was convicted of five counts of indecency, which he had denied.

Prosecuting, Crown Advocate Chris Dunford said Le Cocq engaged in sexual acts around the island between 2021 and 2024, including at the Pulias Pond car park and Moulin Huet cark park. In court, Le Cocq said the acts were not indecent as nobody saw them happen.

Judge Marc Davies said no-one needed to see an incident or complain for it to be indecent. A probation report is to be prepared, with Le Cocq due back in court on 15 October.

Le Cocq also faced two counts possessing extreme pornography involving animals, which he was found not guilty of.

Judge Davies said the pornography charges could not be proved.

Charges that Le Cocq possessed indecent images of children, which he denied, were dropped before the case went to trial.
