Lanes on M25 reopen after crash but delays remain

Three lanes on a section of the M25 have reopened after they were shut following a crash involving a lorry and motorbike that caused significant delays.

National Highways said shortly after 10:40 BST on Wednesday the carriageway between junction 12 (Thorpe) and junction 13 (Staines) fully reopened.

The agency added the vehicles involved in the collision have been moved to the hard shoulder to await recovery, and a fuel spillage has been successfully treated.

It also warned drivers that there were still delays of 30 minutes.

Earlier in the day, there were delays of more than an hour and congestion spanning six miles on the M25.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said officers were called to the scene shortly after 08:15 BST after reports of a crash involving a lorry and a motorcycle.
