Plans submitted for £200m chicken processing plant
GooglePlans have been submitted for a £200m poultry processing factory near Grimsby.
The proposed site at the Europarc industrial estate in Healing would provide 1,400 jobs, according to its developer Hull-based Cranswick Country Foods PLC.
When complete, the site could process up to 1.75m chickens a week.
If approved, the facility would take two years to build and support an estimated 800 construction jobs, a spokesperson for the firm said.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the site would be accessed via a roundabout on Pegasus Way using the existing road network.
It would feature a main building, a staff car park with 369 spaces and other elements, including HGV parking, fuel storage, and water storage and treatment tanks.
A submitted transport assessment estimates the facility would generate 1,428 two-way vehicle movements daily. This includes 202 two-way movements of HGVs.
A Cranswick spokesperson said: "This significant investment represents a major opportunity for the region,"
"We are committed to working closely with North East Lincolnshire Council, the local community and other key stakeholders through the development phase and for many years to come."
