Bin lorry dumps flaming load on to street

A bin lorry had to empty its load out on to the street after a fire broke out.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the waste alight in Ormonde Drive on the Denby Hall Business Park in Ripley at about 11:30 BST on Thursday.

Crews from Alfreton and Ripley wearing breathing equipment hosed down the fire.

The scene was left with the waste operator for clean-up, the fire service said.
