Safety upgrades under way at marina

Improvement works are under way at a marina as part of a safety and accessibility upgrade.

Ports of Jersey said the project at Albert Pier would see the extended deck removed and the existing ramp placed on to a new steel frame.

It said every effort would be made to minimise disruption throughout the project and harbour operation would continue as normal.

Jersey harbour-master Capt William Sadler said: "These improvements are about making sure the marina continues to serve the people who rely on it every day."

Capt Sadler added: "While there will be some short-term disruption, the long-term benefit will be a more resilient marina that's ready to support our maritime community for many years to come."

Initial works were expected to continue until early January 2027 before pausing over winter.
