Shane Richie banned from driving after speeding
Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron/BBCEastEnders actor Shane Richie has been banned from driving for six months after he was caught speeding.
Court records have revealed that the 62-year-old, real name Shane Roche, was hit with the driving ban on 23 September after he admitted the offence.
He was also fined £500 at Guildford Magistrates' Court and ordered to pay £320 in costs and a surcharge.
Richie, best known for playing Alfie Moon in the BBC soap, is already awaiting trial over a separate alleged offence of drink-driving in Harlow, Essex.
It allegedly happened when Richie was driving a Hyundai IX35 at a petrol station in Church Langley Way on 29 July.
He allegedly provided a breath sample of 65mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, which is above the legal limit of 35mcg.
The actor, from Tadworth in Surrey, appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court earlier in September for that offence.
Richie denies the allegation and will stand trial on 17 November 2027 at the same court.
The TV presenter, who came fourth on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2020, has hosted a number of game shows, appeared in pantomimes and first appeared on EastEnders in 2002.
For the speeding offence, Richie entered a guilty plea in writing and his case was dealt with in private via the Single Justice Procedure.
