Wrexham opens new pavilion before planning application considered
PA MediaWrexham AFC's new Colliers Park pavilion is going before the local council's planning comittee on Monday - a week after it was opened.
The application to build it was lodged in August, when it was almost finished.
It was flagged by Gresford Community Council, which also told the planning committee it was "disappointed" to be consulted on the proposal so late.
It raised concerns about a cut in parking at Wrexham's training ground from 89 to 72, which it worried could create problems nearby, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
Wrexham councilMeanwhile, Natural Resources Wales questioned the project's sewage and drainage plans.
After reviewing the proposals, it said the club, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, must show why connection to the public sewer was not possible before a private drainage solution could be allowed.
"Additional information is required to demonstrate that the proposed package treatment plant and discharge to the ground would not result in additional phosphorus entering the River Dee and Bala Lake SAC," it said.
Wrexham planning officers have recommended the pavilion for approval, but acknowledged the retrospective aspect posed problems.
