EasyJet to stop flying from Leeds Bradford Airport

EasyJet will cease running flights from Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) next January, the airline has confirmed.

The operator, which offered journeys to Barcelona, Paris, Belfast, Malaga, Majorca and Geneva, said it was withdrawing from the airport to "focus on maintaining and developing" its "most popular" routes.

Customers with EasyJet bookings from LBA beyond 5 January next year have been offered a free transfer to flights from an alternative airport or a refund, the operator added.

LBA said it had nothing further to add to EasyJet's statement.

The company confirmed it would continue to run flights to Barcelona, Paris and Belfast until January.

Flights to Malaga and Majorca will cease in November, as the company said these were "summer only" routes, while flights to Geneva have not run since June.

An EasyJet spokesperson said: "Following a review of our routes from Leeds Bradford Airport, we have made the decision to no longer operate flights from the airport after 5 January.

"Our focus is on maintaining and developing routes which prove most popular with customers."
