Two teenagers arrested over RNLI quad bike theft

Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of taking an RNLI quad bike from the promenade in Whitby.

The vehicle was reported as stolen at about 17:20 BST on Saturday, a spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said.

Following enquiries, the two teenagers were arrested and have since been released on conditional bail.

However, the vehicle remains missing and enquiries were "ongoing to locate and recover the quad bike," the spokesperson added.

A spokesperson for the RNLI said: "We can confirm that a quad bike was stolen from RNLI Whitby.

"We remain hopeful for its recovery."
