Police name two men who died in workplace incident near rural road

Two men who died after a workplace incident at a road in County Down on Friday have been named by police.

Joseph Hobbs, 23, from Comber and Mark Glover, 38, from Ballygowan received medical treatment but were pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident happened on the Ballygowan Road in Crossnacreevy at about 10:45 BST on Friday.

Police said their sympathies remained "with all those affected by this tragic incident".

The police said they will continue to work with Northern Ireland's Health and Safety Executive (HSENI) as enquiries continue.

On Friday, Democratic Unionist Party MP Gavin Robinson said on social media that his thoughts were with the men's families and loved ones "at this devastating time".

Alliance Party MLA Peter McReynolds said it was "an absolutely heartbreaking incident" and his thoughts were with the families and emergency service personnel.
