Inflatable monsters return to rooftops after wind
BBCEight inflatable monsters for a Halloween trail are set to return to rooftops across Leicester city centre after they were taken down temporarily due to windy weather.
BID Leicester confirmed the monsters would be back in place from mid-afternoon on Tuesday until Sunday morning.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for wind covering large sections of England, including Leicester, on Friday, with gusts reaching more than 40mph (64.4km/h) on Saturday.
A spokesperson for BID Leicester said: "We're really sorry for the disruption, especially during our opening weekend and half-term, but keeping everyone safe comes first."
Only five of the monsters were taken down in the first instance, with the remaining three removed on Sunday.
The monsters will now return to their locations across the city, including Leicester Cathedral and the Highcross shopping centre.
The event follows a similar trail in 2023, which attracted more than 80,000 visitors.
Visitors can follow the trail using an app and those who complete it will be automatically entered into a prize draw.

The event is organised by BID Leicester, alongside Leicester Cathedral and Leicester City Council.
BID Leicester said: "After a rather wild weekend of weather, our monstrous friends are finally getting ready to come out of hiding!
"We're hoping to have all eight giant monsters back out causing mischief across Leicester city centre from mid-afternoon Tuesday 27 October."
Assistant city mayor, councillor Vi Dempster, said: "These giant, colourful creatures were a huge hit when they first appeared three years ago, putting a smile on people's faces and bringing fun and surprises to the city centre."
