Trial date set for man accused of murdering woman

A trial date has been set for a man accused of murdering a care worker.

Andrew Bell, 44, from Darlington, appeared at Teesside Crown Court charged with the murder of 44-year-old Leanne Park.

Police were called to an address in Parkgate, Darlington, at about 21:15 BST on Wednesday, where they found her body.

No pleas were entered but a trial was set for 8 March 2027. Bell was remanded in custody ahead of a plea hearing set for 26 October.
