Pedestrian dies after suspected hit-and-run in Linlithgow
GoogleA pedestrian has died after being hit by car in a suspected hit-and-run incident in West Lothian.
Police said a 48-year-old man was fatally injured at about 00:20 on Sunday on Main Street in Linlithgow by a car which left the scene of the collision.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been informed.
Officers are now trying to trace the occupants of a grey Renault Clio and have asked anyone with information to contact them.
Insp Thomas Mallinson said: "We are carrying out extensive inquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and trace the occupants of the car.
"We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to contact police.
"In addition, anyone with dash-cam footage from around the time of the incident is asked to get in touch as this may be able to assist our investigation."
