Woman sexually assaults and robs man at bus stop

A man was sexually assaulted and robbed after accepting a drink from a woman and losing consciousness at a bus stop in Scarborough, police have said.

The woman was believed to have struck up conversation with the man, in his 50s, while he was in the bus shelter under Spa Bridge some time between 10 and 26 August, according to North Yorkshire Police.

He reluctantly accepted a drink from the woman, in her 30s, before falling unconscious and he was then sexually assaulted and cash and belongings were stolen, a force spokesperson said.

The woman was described as wearing heavy make-up, with red streaks in her hair, and wearing a long black skirt and a black top with white marks on the sleeves.

Anyone who saw what happened, or who offered to help the disorientated man in the shelter, has been asked to get in touch with police.

Officers said they particularly wanted to hear from a member of the public who was thought to have asked if the man was all right.

They would also like to hear from anyone who may have found a discarded wallet or artwork showing black-and-white pencil-drawn landscape scenes, the spokesperson said.
