The National Trust says it has been working to locate areas of underground burning at Dunwich Heath.

Jenny Olley is an on-call Suffolk firefighter, with colleagues including a salesman and builder.

The site was metres away from the blaze which destroyed vast swathes of heathland.

The fire service is monitoring the site after handing control back to the National Trust.

Firefighter Mark Cowling says tackling the nature reserve wildfire was "my toughest job in 26 years".

The National Trust say areas of the site are unstable and unsafe as they urge people to stay away.
