Watch: Police smash car window in prisoner pursuit

Footage showing the moment police smashed the window of a car being driven by an absconded prisoner in Suffolk has been released.

Sonny Loveridge, 28, had been on-the-run for more than three weeks after being granted temporary release from HMP Hollesley Bay when officers eventually located him near Fordham in June.

Suffolk Police said Loveridge failed to stop before he drove into a police vehicle and collided with another car before officers brought the vehicle to a halt.

Already serving an 11-year, eight-month sentence, Loveridge pleaded guilty to being a temporarily released prisoner unlawfully at large, alongside three driving-related offences and was jailed for a further 20 months and banned from driving for 28 months.
